Girls only robotics and engineering funded by Bentley Systems

GIRLStEAM

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a series of girls only workshops and maybe a FIRST LEGO League team, with thanks to funding from Bentley Systems .

Girls aged 9-16 can take part in the regional competition on 6th or 7th March in Bude showcasing their hard work in four categories: 1- Robot game, how many missions can you complete in just two and a half minutes. 2- Robot design and game strategy. 3- Innovation Project 4- Core Values. We are excited to see what you can do!

What is girlsteam?

Inspirational. Aspirational. Creative.

Our GirlSTEAM program is designed to inspire and encourage girls in STEM and the Arts.

  • A chance to join a FIRST® LEGO® League girls-only team (October 2024 - March 2025. Suitable for girls aged 9-16 on 7th March 2025.)

This is an opportunity for girls to shine; to explore their creativity and ideas alongside a group of friends in a nurturing, supportive and aspirational environment.

This year’s theme is ‘Submerged’ where we will dive into the Ocean looking at problems the Oceans are facing and how we can solve them. The girls will have the opportunity to speak to experts in the field and think about how their ideas could have a real impact on their community. They will also design and build an autonomous robot that will complete a variety of missions in just 2.5 minutes!

Suitable for girls aged 9-16, from any educational background, of all interests and ability.

Delivered in Bude, North Cornwall by our female-led team.

A fully funded STEAM opportunity.

Come and be part of the team!

Join us every week as we work together to design and programme a robot to complete a series of robot challenges, as well as creating an innovation project based on the theme ‘Submerged’.
